Something a little different for today's giveaway from Inspired by Paper. 

I have the pleasure in working with Kasey on the committee that runs the Maribyrnong Makers Market (my favourite in Melbourne!). I'm just in awe with what she is able to create - all with paper! Love!

As the name states, Inspired by Paper is made with all things paper. Greeting and gift cards along with personalised frames are all created with many types of papers, embellishments and stamps. New to the range are alphabet frames which can also be themed to match a rooms decor (see them and other frames here on Facebook).

Today's giveaway is from my lovely friend Shelli from Shelli Morse Design. 

We met through Facebook a couple of years ago. Clicked and instantly I knew she was just the loveliest of people (is that a word - loveliest!?!). Then discovered that she lives in my home town and knew my sister (who still lives there). I was lucky to meet her on one of my trips home and further confirmed what a beautiful soul she really is!

 

Shelli Morse Design started after the arrival of her second child, a long held love of sewing with beautiful fabrics and the need to surround herself with unique handmade craftiness. 

She delights in using pure linen, designer cotton, silk, wool felt and merino jersey to create my girls clothes, homewares, accessories and ladies seasonal ranges. Shelli enjoys working with vintage textiles, lace, trims and treasures and incorporate these within many of her designs. Each range is produced in small quantities to give individuals the chance to shine.

The desire to create unique handmade designs with classic styling by combining beautiful textiles means she has an endless task sourcing the ‘perfect’ combination of materials. Thankfully, living in a small country town in North West New South Wales, Shelli can draw her inspiration from the environment and use natural fibres and hues inspired by the palette of the local area.

Day 25: Giveaway Bonanza

I was fortunate enough to meet Melanie Hurlston (now Dekker) of Melly & Me fame last year when I went to a craft retreat in Daylesford, Victoria. She is a blast and I really loved spending the day with her, other designers and a whole bunch of friends. We were quickly tagged ‘the naughty table’ – a badge that we wore with pride I think!

Melly’s adventures in sewing began six years ago when she discovered, as an at-home mother, that she still had the desire to be creative and productive. Her passion for sewing quickly grew after her sister, RosalieQuinlan (man what a creative family that is!), encouraged her to give it a try, and only 12 months after starting to sew she began designing under the pattern label Melly & Me.

Melly’s goal was to develop a range of contemporary sewing patterns that included bright and quirky toys, wearable purses and lively, modern quilts. Her aim is to design items that are original, fun and achievable in a day, as well as being completely usable in everyday life.

She now designs fabrics as well – you may recognise her most recent ‘Toy Tales’ which is available now.

My daughter has swimming lessons every single week and we seem to go through swimsuits pretty quickly. I've resorted to buying two-piece tankini's just to last a little longer as she seems to grow taller rather than wider! When I saw these swimsuits I thought they were a brilliant idea. Another one from me today.

When I started this business 2.5 years ago, I designed the Boobook ribbon owl as my first product. Since then I have added other toys and children's clothes but I still love my original Boobooks! I’ve now made over 200 of them – each of them different and unique and each with its own name. 

I'm working on the pattern for this one and it is one of my projects for January (of many things I want to do!). I have also started drafted some other patterns of a similar nature and I’m really excited to bring these to you in 2013.

I have two small owlets - aged 6 and 3 - and I'm always looking for activities for them to do. Something that isn't sitting them in front of the tv (although that does come in handy at times!). I used cloth nappies for both my children. Thanks to a little side work doing marketing for a well known website, I was able to test many different nappies and styles.
