Inspiration

What inspires you? 

For me it is pretty fabrics and ribbons (probably why I like making my Boobooks so much!). My children inspire me every single day. Often just to keep going (!) but with every little thing they do or say. So innocent and precious. I adore them so much and love watching them grow. There are days however, that I just want to press pause and give myself more time to enjoy them while they are little.

I found this Tree Hugger fabric designed by Julia Dobson Miner for Studio E Fabrics on one of my favourite blogs, My Owl Barn. I think it might need to make its way into my stash soon.

So tell me - what inspires you?

Design Competition

Calling all designers ~ I need you! We all like a bit of a competition right? With prizes? And you all get to help me decide!

The Brief 
(can you tell my day job is marketing!)

Create little character owls - either one owl in a range of colours or a series of different owls. They should appeal to all people - so girl owls, boy owls and maybe even non-specific owls (!).  


They could be used:

• on the Lil Pip Facebook page
• on the Lil Pip blog 
• on Lil Pip marketing material

Designs will be published on my Facebook page and here in the blog (with links to your page/website) for people to comment. I love feedback but ultimately, I will make the decision!

Every entry will receive a little (small) thank you gift and the winner will receive a $50 voucher to use on any Lil Pip products. Entry may lead to further design work (I need a blog banner, promotional cards, a new Facebook profile image and a website!).

Terms and Conditions

1. Email your design to me by Friday 15 July, 5pm with your name and address so I can send your small gift.
2. Designs will be displayed with your website or Facebook page details on my Facebook page and on the blog for likers and followers to comment on. 
3. The winner will be announced here and on Facebook on Sunday 31 July, 8pm (the night before my regular market night).
4. The winner will receive a $50 shopping voucher (including postage) and the opportunity to be a VIP shopper and select products 30 minutes before everyone else.
5. Lil Pip reserves all right to use the winning design/s on all marketing material and online. The designs become the property of Lil Pip and may be used by other designers in future work.
6. Unsuccessful designs are more than welcome to reuse the designs in other work.  
7. Designs should be your original work and not previously used by any clients or customers.

Product Highlight - Tiges and Weince

I'm so honoured to bring you the AMAZING products from Tiges and Weince. Designed and hand printed by Kylie, these pillows, doorstops and wall art would be an beautiful addition to a babies nursery or kids room (or perhaps the door stop could be a bookend in a sewing room!).

Welcome

I thought it was about time that Lil Pip had its very own blog. I feel like I have lots to say, so hopefully I can update you on everything that is going on in my world.

I currently have two obsessions (amongst oh so many!). Pinterest and crochet!

Inspired by a customer and seeing all the gorgeous photos on Pinterest, I decided this week to teach myself to crochet. YouTube is a wonderful thing really! I've started pretty basic and made a couple of granny squares. They might only become a cushion but I would love to make a little blanket for each of my gorgeous kids.

This Pretty Flower Square Pillow would be beautiful for my little girl.
